Yvette Vieira is the manager of Palliative Care and Bioethics at Atlantic Health System, NJ. She completed her BSc. at McMaster University in Canada and worked in several not-for-profit organizations that mobilized health care access/advocacy, community support and education for individuals in vulnerable populations, specifically those with pre-natal diagnoses of rare congenital defects. She transplanted with her family to New Jersey where she co-founded a consulting company whose mission it was to create novel community networks to support older adults aging in place. Most recently Yvette has been involved in the 2019 NJ Medical Aid in Dying law, assisting in policy development, processes and patient and physician advocacy both within the system and outside and pandemic planning for the COVID-19 surges in NJ.

Yvette completed her Master’s in Medical Humanities at Drew University and a Certificate of Bioethics from Montefiore/Yeshiva University. She sits on the MSNJ Bioethics Committee, the ARC of NJ’s Human Right Committee, NJ Conversation of Your Life Task Force, Advisor to Kent Place Ethics Scholars Program, and serves as a liaison/Adjunct Professor for Atlantic Health System and Drew University’s Graduate Medical and Health Humanities Program.

Yvette is nationally certified by the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities as a Health Care Ethics Consultant.
